COUNT <br />Y, f;F LEE <br />NORTH <br />CAROLINA 30~n it <br /> <br />The Lee County Commissioners met on Tune 20, 1983 in a regular meeting and <br />adopted the following resolution: <br />WHERE <br />AS, the North Carolina Department of Transp <br />ortation with Governor Hunt's Good Roads <br />Program allocated funds of $132,428.78 <br />that are available for rural secondary <br />road improvements in Lee County :C'cr the <br />forthcoming construction season and a <br />public hearing was held on 6-20-83 <br />in the Wilrick County Office Building <br />on said funds: <br />WHERE <br />AS, it is proposed to retain approximately <br />17% of the total proposed allocation, <br />($11,228.78) for small projects that ma <br />y come up during the year such as road <br />additions, property owner participation <br />projects, volunteer fire department and <br />rescue squad drives, project overruns, <br />drainage, etc. <br />WHERE <br />AS, the Board of County Commissioners recog <br />nizes the great need for improvement of <br />secondary roads in Lee County; and <br />WHERE <br />AS, Department of Transportation Officials <br />have said that funds from Governor Hunt's <br />Good Roads Program in the amount of $11 <br />2,428.78 have been allocated to Lee County <br />for improvement of secondary roads for <br />Fiscal Year 1983-1984; and <br />WHERE <br />AS, the Department of Transportation presen <br />ted to us a priority list of roads in <br />Lee Conty determined by the Statewide c <br />riteria for consideration and approval. <br />WHERE <br />AS, it is proposed to survey, secure right <br />of way, grade, drain, base, pave, and <br />erosion control straight down the prior <br />ity list for the following projects within <br />available funds, provided rights of way <br />are available.
