~:en 11 ?t,f~` 1?7 <br />V /5' <br />A RESOLUTION TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION, <br />U. S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, FOR EMERGENCY JOBS ACT (PUB. L. 98-8) FUNDS <br />• <br />l~ <br />WHEREAS; The Economic Development Administration through the Emergency Jobs Act (Public <br />L. 98-8) has received supplemental funds for public works grants; and <br />WHEREAS; LEE COUNTY HAS BEEN DETERMINED BY THE Economic Development Administration to <br />be eligible to apply for a grant under Public Law 98-8; and <br />WHEREAS; Lee County is a political subdivision of the State of North Carolina and is <br />eligible to apply for a grant under Public Law 98-8; and <br />WHEREAS; Lee County has a need to construct public facilities, but lacks adequate <br />funds; and <br />WHEREAS; Without this assistance, Lee County, will not be able to create immediate <br />employment opportunities for individuals unemployed at least 15 of the 26 weeks <br />preceding March 24, 1983. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS that: <br />1. Lee County does hereby apply to the Economic Development Administration, U. S. <br />Department of Commerce, for Emergency Jobs Act Funds. <br />2. John E. Dotterer, Chairman, Lee County Board of Commissioners, and his successors, <br />so titled, is hereby authorized to executive an application on behalf of Lee County. <br />3. Bill Hartman, County Manager of the Lee County, and his successors, so titled, is <br />hereby authorized and directed to furnish such information as the appropriate Federal <br />and State agencies may request in connection with such application or the project; to <br />make assurances as contained above; and to execute such other documents as may be <br />required in connection with the application. <br />4. That Lee County and any identified beneficiaries have complied with, or will comply <br />with, all Federal, State and Local laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances applicable <br />to the project and have thereby authorized the above designated representative to <br />execute an affidavit so stating. <br />ADOPTED THIS day of . 1983. <br />ATTEST: <br />Do <br />K.R.
