e-; <br />KID <br />~ooR 11 211 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, -STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />~ rm mm rm ~ mmm mm=x$:fix =$%x ~=mmfi~ m=x'fi '~F'm=xmm mmm m=xi=-'~ r=x~='TT~ <br />Monday, August 1st, 1983 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 o'clock a. m., on Monday, <br />August 1st, 1983, in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County' <br />Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were <br />Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., Bertha L. Matthews <br />and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioner John E. Dotterer was absent. Vice- <br />Chairman Bertha L. Matthews declared a quorum present and the meeting open for <br />the transaction of business. <br />Vice-Chairman Bertha L. Matthews presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Reverend James McGhee, Pastor of <br />the East Sanford Baptist Church. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners <br />held on Tuesday, July 5, 1983, were approved and ordered corrected, upon motion <br />of Commissioner Jerry M. Almond, seconded by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, <br />Jr., which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />Petitions requesting that Wintergreen Road, Woodburn Circle, <br />Laurel Road and Holiday Road in Westlake Valley Subdivision, be added to the <br />State System of Secondary Roads, were presented to the Board. Commissioner. <br />Gordon A. Wicker moved that the roads be added to the State Maintained Secondary <br />Road System. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote it was unanimously adopted. A copy of the resolution requesting addition of <br />said roads to the State Maintained Secondary Road System are attached to these <br />minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. <br />Mr. Joel Jackson appeared on behalf of the Sanford-Lee County <br />Rescue Squad and requested that the approaches to their building, be paved. Comm- <br />issioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Department of Transportion be requested <br />to pave the approaches to the Aml)ulance Service building. Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Leonard Barefoot, County Planner, appeared before the Board <br />and presented a Subdivision Plat of the B. M. Kelly Property. , The Plat had been <br />approved by the Planning Board and was on property located on the Hancock Road, <br />which is Secondary Road 1184. Commissioner John R.
