Those present were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr. , John E. Dotterer and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioner <br />Bertha L. Matthews was absent when the meeting opened. Chairman John E. <br />Dotterer declared a quorum present and the meeting open for business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by County Manager, Mr. Walter B. <br />Hartman, Jr. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews joined the meeting and <br />participated in the further deliberations of the Board. <br />Mayor Ralph B. Hunter of the Town of Broadway, welcomed the <br />Board to the Town of Broadway and introduced the members of the Board of <br />Commissioners of the Town of Broadway. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday,August 1, <br />1983, were reviewed and discussed and corrected. Commissioner John R. Doss- <br />enbach, Jr., moved that the minutes, as corrected, be approved and ordered <br />recorded. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker requested that the Department, <br />of Transportation be asked to make a study of the traffic at the intersection of old <br />U. S. #1 and U. S. #1 By-Pass, near James' Fish House, south of Sanford. <br />The Chairman announced that the Board had advertised that it <br />would hold a public hearing on a proposed amendment to the Mobile Home Ordi- <br />nance. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the Board proceed <br />to hold'the public hearing. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Mr. Leonard Barefoot read the <br />amendment and explained the purpose. All interested persons were given an <br />
