aOaR it 246 <br />They next presented Budget Amendment # 83 09 06 03, which was an <br />amendment to the Airport Budget, a copy of which is attached hereto and by this <br />reference made a part hereof. This amendment was discussed and reviewed, <br />following which Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that Budget Amendment <br /># 83 09 06 03, be approved and adopted. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />They next presented to the Boardfor its consideration, the report <br />from the Tax Supervisor, with his recommendations as to refunds and releases. <br />A list of the refunds and a release report for the month of August are attached <br />hereto and by this reference made a part hereof. These matters were discussed <br />and reviewed following which Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , moved <br />that refunds and releases be authorized in accordance with the report submitted <br />by the Tax Supervisor. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The County Manager reported that the Board of Trustees of <br />Central Carolina Hospital had agreed to accept the County's proposal of <br />$80, 000. 00, as settlement for the damages to the old Lee County Hospital, <br />said sum to be paid in three equal payments beginning September 1, 1983. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , moved that the County approve and <br />accept such settlement and method of payment. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Donn Gunderson appeared before the Board and discussed <br />determination of indigent care ability to pay in connection with care to be <br />furnished for indigents at Central Carolina Hospital. This matter was discussed <br />at length, following which Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , moved <br />that the County adopt the schedule based upon 75% of the Hill-Burton Indigent Care <br />Chart, a copy of which chart is attached to these minutes and by this reference <br />made a part hereof, as the standard to use in dealing with Central Carolina <br />Hospital on indigent care. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Phillip Shropshire, an Officer of the Home Builders <br />Association, appeared before the Board and complained about the Inspection Office <br />being placed under the supervision of the Planning Department. He also spoke <br />in favor of the employment of an Assistant Inspector. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that a Commissioner <br />be assigned to serve on the Ambulance Advisory Board. Commissioner Bertha <br />L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />
