X:~X; X;:;: XcXo;; Xc oc X: X;T Monday, September 6th, 1983 n =k Xc,,,m>'F Y,c*'11 ^ ^ m rm~' m* 1~111 n m ro r~ m *11-1 r.'-'<'F Xc The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 o'clock a. m. , on Tuesday, September 6th, 1983, with Monday, September 5th, 1983, having been observed as a legal holiday. The meeting convened in the Commissioners Room, second floor, County Office building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman John E. Dotterer declared a quorum present and the meeting open for business. Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was transacted. The invocation was given by the County Manager, Mr. Walter B. Hartman, Jr. The minutes of the August 15, 1983 regular meeting, were approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner Jerry M. Almond, which motion was seconded by Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews, and unani- mously adopted upon a vote. Mr. Leonard Barefoot, appeared before the Board and recommended that the Pig Gunter road be re-named Pine Forest road, in accordance with the request of people living on said road. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the request be granted and that the Pig Gunter road be re-named as Pine Forest road. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a vote, Commissioners Almond, Dossenbach, Matthews and Dotterer voted for the motion and Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker voted against it. Mr. Elwin Buchanan, Grants Director, appeared before the Board and reviewed the report on the projects being supervised by his office. Mr. Leonard Barefoot appeared before the Board and discussed the program concerning erecting signs on road intersections and also about the considered changes to the Mobile Home requirements. No formal action was taken.
