<br />MOK 11 3 5 <br />The Chairman expressed the appreciation of the Board to the <br />County Manager, Grants Director, Planner, and Attorney for their work in <br />negotiating the purchase of the Owl's Nest Water System. <br />Mr. Fred Garner and other residents in Parkwood Subdivision <br />were recognized and they asked questions concerning the cost of tap ons and <br />monthly service. <br />The Board next considered a request that it appoint the Depart- <br />ment of Social Services as lead agency in the County for long term care <br />planning and screens and in connection therewith, to apply for a grant from <br />the State of North Carolina for funds to initiate a screening program. The <br />matter was discussed at length with Mr. Don Gunderson, Director, Department <br />of Social Services, but no formal action was taken at this meeting. <br />The meeting was adjourned upon motion of Commissioner John <br />R. Dossenbach, Jr., seconded by Commissioner Jerry M. Almond and the <br />meeting was adjourned accordingly. <br />CHAIRMAN <br />
