dq <br />~ooi i~ ; 3f34 <br />MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE <br />v T COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />FXc:F Xcn mXc ~;:Xc~'rX=r TXc Xc Xc Xc:,c ~~'cXc Xc Xc~*X<~k Xe ;:Fm cXc ~k Xc: X: Xc*~Xc ncm~~k Xc ~k <br />Tuesday, November 1st, 1983 <br />mT :Xc~=kmX~; ; X=Xc X=TT, ~~k=kTXc xc:x; Tm~~k X<~k X=X=mX=>k~ X=TT%k ~kmXc TXc X=TXcTT ~Xc xc, <br />The adjourned special meeting of the Board of Commissioners <br />for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners <br />Room, second floor, County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North <br />Carolina, on Tuesday, November 1st, 1983, at 8:00 o'clock p, m. , the same <br />being the time, date and place specified in the motion for adjournment made at <br />the October 27, 1983 meeting. Those present were Commissioners Jerry M. <br />Almond, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews <br />and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman John E. Dotterer declared a quorum present <br />and the meeting open for business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />Chairman Dotterer opened the meeting by reading a statement <br />concerning water problems in Lee County, a copy of which is attached to these <br />minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the County employ <br />Miller/Williams & Works, Inc. , as engineers for all phases of the emergency <br />water line to Parkwood Subdivision. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews second- <br />ed the motion and the matter was open for discussion. Mr. Francis Chester, <br />project manager for Miller/Williams & Works, Inc., appeared before the Board <br />and presented a proposal and contract for the project. Following the discussion <br />with the representative of the engineering firm, a vote was taken and the motion <br />was adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the County <br />Manager be authorized to advertise for bids on the Parkwood Subdivision water <br />line project whenever plans and specifications are available from the engineers. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the County <br />Manager solicit bids and proposals from interested engineering firms on upgrading <br />of the Owl's Nest Water System. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />
