0 10
ecos. 11 Pr..e~ 33D
• of Commissioners. Mayor McLeod stated that he had a prepared statement
and he distributed copies of it to the press; however, he did not read it to the
Board of Commissioners. The City officials and the Board discussed the
matter at length. The County's position was that the agreement entered into
between the two governmental units on February 2, 1971, was an agreement
about extensions of water and sewer lines to industrial sites. The City would
like to take the position that the agreement brought extensions to industrial
sites as well as to residential areas. The City stated that they would not
relinquish control over the water system and the Board of Commissioners label-
ed that position as being the problem that existed between the two Boards.
Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the Chairperson invite and arrange
a meeting between the County Board of Commissioners, the Board of Aldermen
of the City of Sanford, and the Board of Commissioners of the Town of Broad-
way, to see if some countywide authority could be established for the furnish-
ing of water and sewer to the inhabitants of Lee County. Commissioner
Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously
adopted.
Mr. Leonard Barefoot, County Planner, appeared before
the Board and presented for consideration, plats of several subdivisions
which had been examined and approved by the County Planning Board. First
presented was an abbreviated final plat of the Francis M. Watson Subdivision
in Greenwood Township. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., moved
• that the Board approve this plat. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded
the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted.
The next plat presented was an abbreviated final plat of the Deer-
field Subdivision in Greenwood Township. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker
moved that the plat be approved. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. ,
seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted.
The next plat presented was a preliminary plat of Crane's
Creek Subdivision, Section 2, in Greenwood Township. Commissioner John
R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the preliminary plat be approved. Commiss-
ioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unani-
mously adopted.
The next plat presented was a final plat of the Creekwood Sub-
division, Section 2, in Pocket Township. The Planning Board had recommend-
ed approval, subject to submittal of letter of credit by the developer in the
amount of $65, 120. 00. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the reco-
mmendations of the Planning Board be accepted and the plat be approved, sub-
ject to the submittal of a letter of credit in the amount of $65, 120. 00. Comm-
issioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously
adopted.
0
