Resolution requesting that the North Carolina General Assembly adopt legislation allowing <br /> conceal carry of firearms in State buildings. <br /> Commissioner Knecht presented a proposed resolution requesting that the General <br /> Assembly adopt legislation allowing conceal carry of firearms in certain State buildings. North <br /> Carolina General Statute section 14-269.4 prohibits weapons on certain State properties. <br /> Commissioner Smith provided proposed amendments to the presented resolution. <br /> Commissioner Reives requested that a draft of the proposed resolution requesting legislative <br /> modifications be sent to the County's legislative representatives. Commissioner Smith moved to <br /> send a draft of the proposed resolution to legislators for consideration. Upon a vote, the results <br /> were as follows: <br /> Aye: Dalrymple, Knecht, Reives, Sharpe, Smith <br /> Nay: None <br /> The Chair ruled the motion carried. <br /> V. NEW BUSINESS <br /> VI. MANAGERS' REPORTS <br /> A. Monthly Financial Report for September 2019. <br /> Assistant County Manager/Finance Director Lisa Minter presented the monthly financial <br /> report for September 2019. County Manager's Monthly Report for October 2019. <br /> County Manager Dr. John Crumpton presented his monthly report for October 2019, <br /> copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. No action <br /> was taken. <br /> VII.COMMISSIONERS' COMMENTS <br /> Commissioner Reives requested that when an industrial plant locates here and lists the <br /> number of jobs, he would like to request that the public be made aware of the different kinds of <br /> jobs and the required training. <br /> VIII. CLOSED SESSION <br /> Commissioner Sharpe moved to go into Closed Session per N.C. General Statute § 143- <br /> 318.11(a)(3)to consult with Counsel regarding the matter of Lee County, North Carolina v. <br /> AmerisourceBergen Drug Corporation, in re: National Prescription Opiate Litigation.
