Mr. <br />Buchanan also reviewed the difficulties experienced with the water system at <br />the Owl's Nest Subdivision. The Board then proceeded to consider the matter <br />of the selection of an engineer for the water system. Commissioner Jerry M. <br />Almond moved that the County employ the firm of Miller, Williams & Works, <br />as engineer. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote, it was adopted by a majority vote, wherein Commissioners Jerry M. <br />Almond, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer and Bertha L. Matthews <br />voted for it and Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker voted against it. <br />Commissioner Gordon left the meeting at this point to serve <br />as a pallbearer at the funeral of a friend. <br />Mr. Terry W. Johnson appeared before the Board with Mr. <br />Ernest Persinger and reviewed the plans of Freedom Cablevision, to expand <br />its service into parts of the County. The Cablevision program was discussed <br />during which Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the Board <br />go on record as being opposed to the season ticket program being offered by <br />the Cablevision service. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Board next considered Appropriation Adjustment #84010313, <br />a copy of which is attached to these minutes and also Appropriation Adjustment <br />#84010314, a copy of which is also attached to these minutes. Commissioner <br />John E. Dotterer moved that the two Appropriation Adjustments be approved. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer inquired of the Board if anyone <br />had re-considered their position with respect to the WIN Program. The matter <br />was discussed, but no formal action was taken. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the Tax Supervisor <br />be authorized to trade a Busicom Model 141P Calculator to Mac's Business <br />Machines for credit of $35. 00, in the purchase of other equipment. Commiss- <br />ioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />The Board next considered the draft proposal bearing date of <br />October 17, 1983, for the Employee Suggestion Program. The draft was dis- <br />cussed and reviewed, following which Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved <br />that the draft be adopted as and for the Lee County Employee Suggestion Pro- <br />gram, effectively immediately. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was. unanimously adopted. <br />
