The Chair- <br />person declared Mr, Tony Ragan duly elected to membership on the Lee <br />County Planning Board to serve the unexpired term of Mr. Bernice Kelly <br />which expires on June 30, 1984, or when his successor is appointed and <br />qualifies. <br />Mr. Leonard Barefoot, County Planner, appeared before the <br />Board concerning the numbering of houses in the County. The matter was <br />discussed and Mr. Barefoot reported that the program had the support of the <br />Sheriff's Department. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the Planning <br />Department be authorized to proceed with the program of numbering residences <br />outside of the municipal limits of Sanford and Broadway and that the charge per <br />residence be set at $2. 50. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. M. B. Harper appeared before the Board on behalf of the <br />HOSPICE Program of Lee County, asking that office space be made available <br />for this program and that they would like to open the office by April. The <br />Chairman advised Mr. Harper that arrangements would be made for some <br />office space for this program. <br />Mr. S. F. Westbrook, Tax Supervisor, appeared before the <br />Board with respect to requests for refunds for homestead exemptions from <br />Mrs. Treva Little, Mrs. Nora F. McDavid and Mrs. William M. Tillotson. <br />These ladies were unaware that they had not submitted the proper forms for the <br />homestead exemptions and have since completed the necessary paper work. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the homestead exemption benefits <br />be authorized for these three persons in 1983. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Westbrook then presented the refund request for December <br />and January, as well as the releases as set forth in the list for December and <br />January which are attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part here- <br />of. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that these refunds and releases be <br />approved and authorized. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The request of Cigar Supply Company, for a refund for property <br />stored in a customs bonded warehouse was presented to the Board. After con- <br />sideration and discussion, Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the request for <br />a refund by Cigar Supply Company, be denied. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />
