AooK 11 ~ 364 <br />EDUCATIONAL PLAN <br />An eligible employee is one: <br />A. Who is a full-time, permanent employee and has been on the active payroll <br />continously for a period of at least 180 days; <br />B. Who is accepted by an accredited, approved educational institution; <br />C. Who is taking a course or courses directly related to his job, or <br />D. The furtherance.of whose education will improve his job performance and <br />enhance his contribution to the County. <br />RESPONSIBILITIES <br />A <br />A. The Department Head shall recommend, encourage and provide assistance to <br />employees who are interested in establishing an educational program. <br />B. The County Manager shall have the final approval and the primary <br />responsibility .for the administration of this program. <br />PROCEDURE <br />EDUCATIONAL PLANNING <br />1. An employee should first discuss the proposed course of study with his <br />immediate supervisor to determine whether reimbursement is applicable under <br />the provisions of this procedure. <br />2. The employee should discuss annually the educational program with the <br />Department Head, if necessary, to obtain continued assistance, guidance, <br />and/or counseling concerning accredited courses and accredited educational <br />institutions. <br />
