~ooK 11 ~~sE 372
Person would set the date of the budget meeting from time to time as it would be
necessary.
The Board discussed the meeting of the Triangle J Council of
Government to be held on March 1st, 1984.
Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that Mr. George McRae
and Mr. John Carney, of Stariadyne, Inc. , be sent a letter congratulating them
on receiving the Governor's Hazardous Waste Award for the manner in which
they had disposed of hazardous waste. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr.
seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted.
The Board next went into executive session to discuss pending
litigation.
Following the executive session, the Board discussed the proposal
about how to handle inclement weather days or snow days when personnel could
not report to work. The proposal of the Personnel Board was presented. The
recommendation of the Personnel Board was that any time loss as a result of
inclement weather should be charged to sick leave. If sick leave was not available,
the employee would have to take a day or one-half of a day without pay as applicable.
Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the recommendation of the
Personnel Board be accepted. There was no second and the Chair ruled that the
motion died for lack of a second. There was further discussion about the policy
and the consensus was that the present policy of making no charges for snow or
inclement weather days be made.
There being no further business to come before the session, it
was adjourned sine die.
C
CLERK
