i" 0 <br />Anon 11 ~~s~ 371 <br />Parks and Recreation Commission could apply next year for the other grant. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Parks and Recreation Comm- <br />ission be authorized to follow that procedure. Commissioner John E. Dotterer <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Library Board of Trustees indicated they were willing <br />to accept the gift of the Corpus Juris Secundum Law Books but they would need <br />to house them at the main Library and would need an annual appropriation of <br />approximately $200. 00 to purchase the supplements to keep the set of books in <br />a current condition. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond authorized the acceptance <br />of the gift if the donors were willing for the books to be placed at the main Library. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unani- <br />mously adopted. <br />It was reported that the State had designated as Clean-Up Litter <br />Weeks, the periods of April 8th through 14th and September 16th through 22nd. <br />The Board of Commissioners went on record as soliciting all local civic clubs <br />and organizations to participate with the Department of Transportation in the cooper- <br />ative effort to clean up the road sides in Lee County, upon motion of Commissioner <br />Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner John E. Dotterer, which motion was <br />unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., advised the Board of an <br />informal meeting of the Triangle J Council of Government, which would be held in <br />Sanford and invited their participation. <br />The County Manager reported that quarters had been made available <br />to the HOSPICE Program. <br />Mr. Donn Gunderson appeared before the Board with respect to the <br />'funds available for the Crisis Intervention Program. <br />The Board considered Budget Amendment entitled "Appropriation <br />Adjustment #84022021", which cover appropriating these funds and the adjustment <br />for the contract services in the Tax Supervisor's office as well as adjustments to the <br />Planning Department budget in connection with the road sign program. Commiss- <br />ioner John E. Dotterer moved that Appropriation Adjustment #84022021, be approved. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unani- <br />mously adopted. A copy of the Budget Amendment is attached to these minutes and <br />by this reference made a part hereof. <br />The County Manager discussed with the Board the schedule of budget <br />meetings as set out in materials furnished to the Commissioners. Commissioner <br />John E. Dotterer requested that a budget be prepared to show a maintenance or <br />continuation budget for services at the present level and an additional budget which <br />reflects enhanced programs. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond requested that the <br />Commissioners be afforded a three-year comparison of budget figures. The <br />Commissioners also requested that they receive materials relating to the department <br />or agency whose budget is to be discussed approximately one week prior to the <br />scheduled meeting.
