Wicker moved that the Parks and Recreation Comm- ission be authorized to follow that procedure. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. The Library Board of Trustees indicated they were willing to accept the gift of the Corpus Juris Secundum Law Books but they would need to house them at the main Library and would need an annual appropriation of approximately $200. 00 to purchase the supplements to keep the set of books in a current condition. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond authorized the acceptance of the gift if the donors were willing for the books to be placed at the main Library. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unani- mously adopted. It was reported that the State had designated as Clean-Up Litter Weeks, the periods of April 8th through 14th and September 16th through 22nd. The Board of Commissioners went on record as soliciting all local civic clubs and organizations to participate with the Department of Transportation in the cooper- ative effort to clean up the road sides in Lee County, upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner John E. Dotterer, which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., advised the Board of an informal meeting of the Triangle J Council of Government, which would be held in Sanford and invited their participation. The County Manager reported that quarters had been made available to the HOSPICE Program. Mr. Donn Gunderson appeared before the Board with respect to the 'funds available for the Crisis Intervention Program. The Board considered Budget Amendment entitled "Appropriation Adjustment #84022021", which cover appropriating these funds and the adjustment for the contract services in the Tax Supervisor's office as well as adjustments to the Planning Department budget in connection with the road sign program. Commiss- ioner John E. Dotterer moved that Appropriation Adjustment #84022021, be approved. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unani- mously adopted. A copy of the Budget Amendment is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. The County Manager discussed with the Board the schedule of budget meetings as set out in materials furnished to the Commissioners. Commissioner John E. Dotterer requested that a budget be prepared to show a maintenance or continuation budget for services at the present level and an additional budget which reflects enhanced programs. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond requested that the Commissioners be afforded a three-year comparison of budget figures. The Commissioners also requested that they receive materials relating to the department or agency whose budget is to be discussed approximately one week prior to the scheduled meeting.
