BOOK it ??SC 382
Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker stated that he was against
any tax increase and requested that the County Manager review the budget to
see where any item might be cut or eliminated.
Commissioner Jerry M. Almond suggested that the Board
consider making the Commissioner member of the Department of Parks and
Recreation Board a non voting member. Commissioner Almond submitted his
resignation as a member of that Board and Chairman then appointed Commiss-
ioner John E. Dotterer to serve as a member of the Parks and Recreation
Commis sion.
Chairman Matthews stated that in the letter sent to the Owl's
Nest Subdivision residents, she wanted it to reflect that the County has worked
constantly with the State authorities to insure that the water system would be
an approved one and that the County would continue to do so and would meet all
State requirements. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker requested that the Board
be furnished with a statement of expenditures for the establishment of the water
system and department.
The Board then, upon motion made, duly seconded and unani-
mously adopted, resolved to adjourn this meeting until 3:30 o'clock p, m. , on
Tuesday, March 6th, 1984, in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of
the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, to
consider budget matters. The meeting adjourned in keeping with the motion.
CHAIRMAN
