a 0 <br />QooK it PCE . 395 <br />MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR <br />MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR LEE COUNTY, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Tuesday, March 13th, 1984 <br />The adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners <br />for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 3:30 o'clock p. m., <br />on Tuesday, March 13th, 1984, in the Commissioners Room on the second floor <br />of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, in <br />accordance with the motion of adjournment. Those present were Commissioners <br />Jerry M. Almond, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. <br />Matthews and Gordon A. Wicker. <br />Chairman Bertha L. Matthews presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The Board discussed and considered the budget requests for the <br />Tax Collector's Office, Administration of Grants, Data Processing Office, <br />Court Facilities, Emergency Management Office, State Forestry, and Board of <br />Elections. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the Tax Collector <br />be authorized to advertise several times in December to remind the tax payers <br />to pay their taxes and avoid the penalty and that the practice of mailing a <br />second notice be discontinued. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote, Commissioners Dossenbach, Dotterer, Matthews and <br />Wicker voted for it and Commissioner Almond voted against it. The Chairman <br />ruled the motion carried by a unanimous vote. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that March 20, 1984, be de- <br />signated as Mental Retardation Day in Lee County and that the Chairman be <br />authorized to issue a proclamation to that effect. Commissioner John R. Dossen- <br />bach, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Board, upon motion made, duly seconded and unanimously <br />adopted, resolved to adjourn this meeting until 7:30 o'clock p. m., on Thursday, <br />March 22, 1984, in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County <br />Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina.
