?OOK_ it PAGE 426 <br />0 <br />MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR <br />MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR LEE COUNTY, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday,` March 26, 1984 <br />The adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners <br />for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 o'clock p, m. , <br />on Monday, March 26, 1984, in the Commissioners Room on the second floor <br />of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, in <br />accordance with the motion of adjournment. Those present were Commissioners <br />Jerry M. Almond, John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews and Gordon A. Wicker. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. was absent when the meeting opened but <br />joined the meeting later. <br />Chairman Bertha L. Matthews presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Mr. Walter B. Hartman, Jr. , the <br />County Manager. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on March 5, 1984, <br />and the adjourned regular meeting held on the 6th of March, 1984 and the 13th <br />of March, 1984, were approved and ordered recorded upon motion of Comm- <br />issioner Jerry M. Almond, seconded by Commissioner John E. Dotterer, which <br />motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />Mr. Ronnie Martin, Director of Lee County Youth Services, report- <br />ed to the Board that Mrs. Sally Parker had resigned from the Commission, and <br />asked that the Board appoint someone to fill the vacancy. The Board unanimously <br />appointed Mrs. Eugenia Thompson, a teacher at West Lee Junior High School, to <br />fill the vacancy and to serve the unexpired portion of Mrs. Parker's term on the <br />Youth Services Commission. <br />The Board of Education has entered into a lease agreement <br />with the Lemon Springs Improvement Corporation on the former teacherage <br />building near Lemon Springs School, for a five year period which requires <br />Board approval. The Chairman requested authority for her to abstain from <br />participating in this matter since her husband is an officer of the Lemon Springs <br />Improvement Corporation. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the <br />Chairman be allowed to abstain from participating in consideration of this <br />matter. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. The Board next considered and discussed the lease <br />following which Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the Board approve and <br />
