REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />July 15, 2019 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina, convened at 6:00 P.M. in the Commissioners Room, First Floor, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners <br />present when the meeting was called to order were Amy M. Dalrymple, Arianna M. Del Palazzo, <br />Dr. Andre Knecht, Robert T. Reives, and Cameron W. Sharpe. Commissioners Kirk D. Smith <br />and Kevin C. Dodson were absent. Staff in attendance included County Manager John <br />Crumpton, County Attorney Whitney Parrish, and Deputy County Attorney/Clerk to the Board <br />Jennifer Gamble. <br />Chair Dalrymple called the meeting to order and the following business was transacted: <br />Commissioner Dalrymple requested a moment of silence and the Pledge of Allegiance <br />was recited. <br />I. ADDITIONAL AGENDA <br />The Board considered changes and additions to the Agenda. County Attorney Whitney <br />Parrish requested the addition of a Closed Session per N.C. General Statute § 143-318(a)(3) to <br />consult with the County Attorney regarding the matter of Lee County, North Carolina v. <br />Amerisourcebergen Drug Corporation, in re: National Prescription Opiate Litigation. <br />Commissioner Reives requested to move from New Business Item A, Downtown Sanford Wifi <br />RFP, Item B, the Emergency Management Grant award, and Item C, the Local Emergency <br />Planning Committee 2018 Annual Report to Consent Agenda. Commissioner Knecht requested <br />further clarification of the Wi-Fi contract. Items B and C were moved from New Business to the <br />Consent Agenda. With no further changes/additions requested, Commissioner Reives moved to <br />approve the Agenda as amended. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Del Palazzo, Knecht, Reives, Sharpe <br />Nay: None <br />The Chair ruled the motion had carried. <br />Page 115 <br />
