aODK 11 rAcL 442 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, April 2nd, 1984 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 o'clock a, m„ on <br />Monday, April 2nd, 1984, in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of <br />the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those <br />present were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. <br />Matthews and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />was absent when the meeting opened but joined the meeting later. <br />was transacted: <br />Hartman, Jr, <br />Chairman Bertha L. Matthews presided and the following business <br />The invocation was given by the County Manager, Walter B. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr, joined the meeting and <br />participated in the further deliberations of the Board, <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker reported on several road sign <br />matters and stated there were no road petitions for consideration at this meeting, <br />,Mr. Leonard Barefoot, County Planner, appeared before the <br />Board and presented an abbreviated final plat of the Frank C. Sineath Subdivision, <br />for consideration. It appeared that three of the tracts would have no road frontage <br />and that there has been some difficulty in finding suitable areas for perculation <br />on four of the tracts. The Board discussed the matter at length, following which <br />Commissioner-John R. Dossenbach, Jr, moved that the final plat not be approved <br />with the proviso that the developers be instructed as to the steps they can take to <br />bring the subdivision in compliance with the ordinances, Commissioner Jerry M. <br />Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted, <br />Mr. Barefoot explained that the road into what w formerly the <br />William H. Rorer plant was named "Rorer Way", but that the property had now <br />been sold and CILCO had purchased the property and desired to have the name of <br />the road changed, Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the Board conduct <br />a public hearing on the change of the name of the road. Commissioner John E. <br />Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Mr. <br />Barefoot was recognized and he stated the request and reasons for the requested <br />name change of the road. No one appeared in opposition to the proposal. After <br />
