soy 11 ?APx 472 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA Monday, May 21, 1984 The regular meetig of the Board of Commissioners for the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room, on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, May 21, 1984, at 7:00 o'clock p. m. Those present were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. The invocation was given by the County Manager, Mr. Walter B. Hartman, Jr. The minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, May 7, 1984, were corrected to delete the name of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker in the second line of the first paragraph on the fifth page and to substitute in lieu thereof the name of Commissioner John E. Dotterer. As corrected, the minutes of that meeting were approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner John" E. Dotterer, seconded by John R. Dossenbach, Jr., which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting held on Monday, May 14, 1984, were then considered. These minutes were approved and ordered recorded, on motion of Commissioner John E. Dotterer, seconded by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the Board proceed to hold public hearings as advertised. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. The Chairman then dec- lared the public hearing on the matter of the change of the name of the paved portion of Secondary Road No. 1167 between Edwards Road and Sheriff Watson Road be named John Godfrey Road. Mr. Stanley West, Attorney, appeared on behalf of the petitoners. No one appeared in opposition. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved to close the hearing on the name change and to grant the petition and to rename the portion of Secondary Road 1167 between Edwards Road and Sheriff Watson Road as John Godfrey Road. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted.
