soy 11 ?APx 472 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, May 21, 1984 <br />The regular meetig of the Board of Commissioners for the Board <br />of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in <br />the Commissioners Room, on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 <br />Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, May 21, 1984, at 7:00 o'clock <br />p. m. Those present were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, John R. Dossenbach, <br />Jr., John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews and Gordon A. Wicker. <br />The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open <br />for the transaction of business. <br />The invocation was given by the County Manager, Mr. Walter <br />B. Hartman, Jr. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, May 7, 1984, <br />were corrected to delete the name of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker in the <br />second line of the first paragraph on the fifth page and to substitute in lieu thereof <br />the name of Commissioner John E. Dotterer. As corrected, the minutes of that <br />meeting were approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner John" <br />E. Dotterer, seconded by John R. Dossenbach, Jr., which motion was unanimously <br />adopted upon a vote. The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting held on Monday, <br />May 14, 1984, were then considered. These minutes were approved and ordered <br />recorded, on motion of Commissioner John E. Dotterer, seconded by Commissioner <br />John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the Board proceed <br />to hold public hearings as advertised. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. The Chairman then dec- <br />lared the public hearing on the matter of the change of the name of the paved portion <br />of Secondary Road No. 1167 between Edwards Road and Sheriff Watson Road be <br />named John Godfrey Road. Mr. Stanley West, Attorney, appeared on behalf of the <br />petitoners. No one appeared in opposition. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker <br />moved to close the hearing on the name change and to grant the petition and to rename <br />the portion of Secondary Road 1167 between Edwards Road and Sheriff Watson Road <br />as John Godfrey Road. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />
