M <br />noc 11 rrs_ 481 <br />U <br />The Board next considered compensation for members of the <br />Parks and Recreation Commission, Planning Board, and County Board of <br />Social Services. After discussion, Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved <br />that the Board pay as compensation for members of the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission, Planning Board and Board of Social Services, the sum of $20. 00 <br />per regular meeting attended. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote it was adopted by a majority vote wherein Commissioners <br />Almond, Dossenbach, Dotterer and Matthews voted for it and Commissioner <br />Gordon A. Wicker voted against it. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />moved that the Commissioner members who serve by virtue of their office as <br />members of the Parks and Recreation Commission, Planning Board and Social <br />Services Board, not be compensated for such service. Commissioner John E. <br />Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., recommended that the <br />vacant position of the Assistant Director of the Parks and Recreation Department <br />not be filled, that the Art Center be maintained at the same level that it presently <br />is, and that $75, 000. 00 be reduced from the Parks and Recreation Budget. This <br />matter was discussed but no formal action was taken. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the former Sanford <br />High School building be designated and known as the Lee County Arts Center. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />adopted by a majority vote wherein Commissioners DODO ribach, Matthews and <br />Wicker voted for it and Commissioners Almond and Dossenbach voted against it. <br />The Board then decided to go into Executive Session to discuss <br />personnel matters. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the Board go <br />into Executive Session. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote, it was adopted by a majority vote wherein Commissioners <br />Almond, Dossenbach, Dotterer and Matthews voted for it and Commissioner Wicker <br />voted against it. In the Executive Session, personnel matters were discussed but <br />no formal action was taken. Following the Executive Session, Commissioner <br />John E. Dotterer moved that it close the Executive Session and go back into its <br />regular session. Commissioner John R.
