BOO'S PACE 499 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, June J8, 1984 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7;00 o'clock p.m. , on <br />Monday, June 18, 1984, in the Commissioner's Room, on the second floor of <br />the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those <br />present were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., <br />John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews and Gordon A. Wicker. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker asked that the action taken <br />on the $20, 000 budget amendment considered on May 21, 1984, as reflected in <br />the minutes previously approved be changed to reflect that he voted "no" on said <br />matter. <br />The minutes of the meeting held on May 30, June 4, and June <br />12, 1984, were considered and corrected. As amended, the minutes were <br />approved and ordered recorded upon motion of Commissioner John E. Dotterer, <br />seconded by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , which motion was <br />unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer requested that the Highway <br />Division, DOT, be asked to drag and make necessary repairs to the Pressly <br />Foushee Road near Tramway. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the Highway <br />Division, DOT, be asked to pave the driveway to the North West Pocket Fire <br />Station. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mrs. Zenobia Sellars appeared before the Board on behalf of a <br />group of ladies from the Woman's Uplift Club. She requested that Horton Park <br />be cleaned up, that public toilet facilities be provided, that police protection be <br />provided and a paved parking area be provided. Other members of the group also <br />spoke on the subject of repairs at the park. The Commission thanked the group <br />for their interest and said they would look into the matter and have it considered by <br />the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />The Chairman noted that the Board had advertised for a public <br />hearing on the extension of the Carolina Trace Fire District. Commissioner John <br />R. Dossenbach, Jr. , moved that the Board proceed to conduct a public hearing <br />
