0 0 <br />nm ii PmT 51t, <br />operate such terminal. <br />(B) The County shall furnish a proper site for <br />installation of a Police Information Network terminal <br />and also furnish personnel to operate said terminal. <br />(C) The County shall assume the usage cost (which <br />cost includes maintenance) of the Police Information <br />Network terminal in the amount of $250. 00 (per month) <br />beginning from date of installation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the <br />installation of a Police Information Network terminal be <br />and it is hereby formally approved by the Board of <br />Commissioners of Lee County, North Carolina, and that <br />the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners (or <br />County Manger) of this County be and they are hereby <br />empowered to sign and execute the required Agreement <br />between this County and the North Carolina Department <br />of Justice Police Information Network. <br />The Board then discussed Senate Bill No. 746, which is an act <br />to increase the income and property limits for the homestead exemption and to <br />offset the resulting revenue loss by increasing the percentage of the homestead <br />exemption for which counties and cities are reimbursed. Upon motion of Comm- <br />issioner John E. Dotterer, seconded by Commissioner Jerry M. Almond, the Board <br />unanimously resolved to urge enactment of the bill by the General Assembly. <br />The request of the Lutheran Family Services for $8, 000 to operate <br />the Mary Margaret McLeod Home for the month of July was presented to the Board <br />and discussed. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that 1/12th of the total, <br />appropriation for this program or $3, 000. 00, whichever is larger, be paid to <br />Lutheran Family Services for such services. There was no second and the Chair <br />ruled the motion died for lack of a second. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved <br />that the Board appropriate $8, 000. 00 to close the operations at the Mary Margaret <br />McLeod House. There was no second and the Chair ruled the motion died for lack <br />of a second. The County Attorney was asked if the Board took no action what would <br />the Finance Officer do. His reply was that he would advise the Finance Officer <br />to pay 1/12th of the appropriation. No action was taken on the request . <br />Mr. Don McLaughlin, Director of the Parks and Recreation <br />Department, appeared before the Board and requested authority to transfer <br />$514.60 from San-Lee Park rentals, line item #1100-3612-861, to a Capital <br />Reserve Account. Mr. McLaughlin explained that the money was from equipment <br />rentals and the department would like to use it for the purchase of new equipment. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that permission be given for such transfer. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., seconded the motion. Upon a vote, <br />Commissioners Dotterer, Dossenbach and Matthews voted for the motion and <br />Commissioners Wicker and Almond voted against it. <br />
