1 09 <br />9,Oox 11 ?,,CC 51" <br />The release and refund reports for June as prepared by the <br />Tax Supervisor were presented to the Board. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond <br />moved that the Tax Supervisor be authorized to grant releases and refunds in <br />accordance with his report. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote, it.was unanimously adopted. <br />The addendum to the contract for employment of the firm of <br />Cameron, Hager & Kinnaman, P. A„ as attorneys for the Department of Social <br />Services, was approved upon motion of Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr, , <br />seconded by Commissioner John E. Dotterer, which motion was unanimously <br />adopted upon a vote. <br />The Board next considered the proposed agreement between the <br />North Carolina Department of Justice Police Information Network and the County <br />of Lee, for use of a video terminal and printer connected to the PIN system at <br />the rate of $250. 00 per month. The following resolution was offered by Comm- <br />issioner John E. Dotterer and a motion was made by Commissioner John E. <br />Dotterer that it be adopted, this motion was seconded by Commissioner Jerry <br />M. Almond, and upon being put to a vote, was unanimously carried: <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of <br />Justice Police Information Network plans to make <br />available to law enforcement agencies and other approp- <br />riate agencies of the State through the use of a centralized <br />computer system various information now available or to <br />be developted essential to the efficient operation of said <br />agencies such as, but not limited to, information contained <br />in the Department of Motor Vehicles' files, information con- <br />tained in the National Crime Information Center, information <br />contained in the State Bureau of Investigation's files, Depart- <br />ment of Corrections' files, and information from local law <br />enforcement agencies by the installation of a Police Infor- <br />mation Network terminal in the office of Sheriff, provided the <br />County of Lee agrees to furnish a proper site for installing <br />such terminal, and the necessary personnel to operate said <br />terminal, and further agrees to assume the usage cost of such <br />terminal from the date of installation; that said installation of <br />a Police Information Network terminal is considered to be <br />most necessary to the preservation of law and order and the <br />promotion of public safety within the County; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Justice, <br />Police Information Network and this County have agreed as <br />follows: <br />(A) The North Carolina Department of Justice, Police <br />Information Network will install and maintain a video terminal <br />and printer connected to the Police Information Network System <br />and also train operators selected and paid by the County to <br />
