9C*v ii ?Ac[ U0 <br />0 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, July 16, 1984 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 o'clock p. m., on <br />Monday, July 16, 1984, in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the <br />County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those <br />present were Commissioners John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews and Gordon <br />A. Wicker. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond was absent when the meeting opened <br />but joined the meeting later. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., was absent. <br />Chairman Bertha L. Matthews announced that a quorum was present and that the <br />meeting was open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman Bertha L. Matthews presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Mr. K. R. Hoyle, the County Attorney. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, July 2, 1984, <br />were approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner John E. <br />Dotterer, seconded by Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, which motion was unani- <br />mously adopted upon a vote. <br />Mr. J. Allen Harrington, Attorney at Law, appeared before the <br />Board on behalf of Mr, and Mrs. James E. Johnson, and presented a petition <br />requesting that that portion of Dogwood Drive in Willetts Lake Subdivision which <br />lies East of Lot No. 8A to the point where a line drawn from the northeast corner <br />of Lot No. 7 to the southeast corner of Lot No. 14 would intersect same, be closed. <br />The matter was discussed at length. During the discussion, Commissioner Jerry <br />M. Almond joined the meeting and participated in the further deliberations of the <br />Board. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the adoption of the following <br />resolution: <br />WHEREAS, G. S. 153A-241 of the General Statutes <br />of North Carolina authorizes the Board of Commissioners of <br />the County of Lee to close public streets, and <br />
