9C*v ii ?Ac[ U0 0 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA Monday, July 16, 1984 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 o'clock p. m., on Monday, July 16, 1984, in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were Commissioners John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond was absent when the meeting opened but joined the meeting later. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., was absent. Chairman Bertha L. Matthews announced that a quorum was present and that the meeting was open for the transaction of business. Chairman Bertha L. Matthews presided and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by Mr. K. R. Hoyle, the County Attorney. The minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, July 2, 1984, were approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner John E. Dotterer, seconded by Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, which motion was unani- mously adopted upon a vote. Mr. J. Allen Harrington, Attorney at Law, appeared before the Board on behalf of Mr, and Mrs. James E. Johnson, and presented a petition requesting that that portion of Dogwood Drive in Willetts Lake Subdivision which lies East of Lot No. 8A to the point where a line drawn from the northeast corner of Lot No. 7 to the southeast corner of Lot No. 14 would intersect same, be closed. The matter was discussed at length. During the discussion, Commissioner Jerry M. Almond joined the meeting and participated in the further deliberations of the Board. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the adoption of the following resolution: WHEREAS, G. S. 153A-241 of the General Statutes of North Carolina authorizes the Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee to close public streets, and
