50v li Ftz. 555 <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried by a majority vote <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the County water <br />system in Owl's Nest Subdivision be brought into compliance with the require- <br />ments of the state regulatory agencies and that when such adjustments are <br />made that uniform rates be assessed in said area, Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr„ seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the Board <br />go on record as being opposed to the sale of the water system at Owl's Nest and <br />the residents be so advised. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote the Commissioners voted as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Dotterer, and Matthews <br />NAY: Almond and Wicker <br />The Chairman ruled the motion passed by a majority vote. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach brought up for discussion the possi- <br />bility of meeting with the officials of the City of Sanford on water problems. <br />Commissioner Almond suggested that both Boards meet together. Commissioner <br />Dotterer moved that a meeting be arranged with officials of Sanford and Broadway <br />to discuss a County wide water system. Upon a vote the Commissioners voted as <br />follows: <br />AYE: Almond, Dossenbach, Dotterer and Matthews <br />NAY: Wicker <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried by a majority vote, <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the County authorize <br />one or two representative to attend the installation of Billy Ray Cameron as <br />Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Chicago, Illinois. Commissioner <br />Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously <br />adopted, <br />The County Manager was authorized to make arrangements for the <br />Commissioners to attend the North Carolina VFW in Greensboro. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the draft of the minutes <br />of the regular meeting held on August 6, 1954, which was submitted to the Board <br />be approved as the official minutes of said meeting and ordered recorded, Comm- <br />issioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />
