50v li Ftz. 555 The Chairman ruled the motion carried by a majority vote Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the County water system in Owl's Nest Subdivision be brought into compliance with the require- ments of the state regulatory agencies and that when such adjustments are made that uniform rates be assessed in said area, Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr„ seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the Board go on record as being opposed to the sale of the water system at Owl's Nest and the residents be so advised. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote the Commissioners voted as follows: AYE: Dossenbach, Dotterer, and Matthews NAY: Almond and Wicker The Chairman ruled the motion passed by a majority vote. Commissioner Dossenbach brought up for discussion the possi- bility of meeting with the officials of the City of Sanford on water problems. Commissioner Almond suggested that both Boards meet together. Commissioner Dotterer moved that a meeting be arranged with officials of Sanford and Broadway to discuss a County wide water system. Upon a vote the Commissioners voted as follows: AYE: Almond, Dossenbach, Dotterer and Matthews NAY: Wicker The Chairman ruled the motion carried by a majority vote, Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the County authorize one or two representative to attend the installation of Billy Ray Cameron as Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Chicago, Illinois. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted, The County Manager was authorized to make arrangements for the Commissioners to attend the North Carolina VFW in Greensboro. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the draft of the minutes of the regular meeting held on August 6, 1954, which was submitted to the Board be approved as the official minutes of said meeting and ordered recorded, Comm- issioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted.
