0 <br />Lai <br />4oa~ 11 rt,~ 535 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />J <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, August 6th, 1984 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 o'clock a, m. , on <br />Monday, August 6, 1984, in the Commissioner's Room on the second floor <br />of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />Those present were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, John R. Dossenbach, <br />Jr. , John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman <br />Bertha L. Matthews announced that a quorum was present and the meeting oven <br />for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman Bertha L. Matthews presided and the following busi- <br />ness was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by County Manager Walter B. Hartman, <br />Jr. <br />The draft of the minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, <br />July 16, 1984, were considered and upon motion of Commissioners Jerry M. <br />Almond, seconded by Commissioner John E. Dotterer, which motion was unani- <br />mously approved upon a vote, the draft submitted was approved and ordered <br />recorded. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker reported that residents in the <br />Westwood Village Subdivision have experienced flooding during the recent rains. <br />Examination disclosed that this area is within the corporate limits of the City of <br />Sanford, and therefore, no action was taken. <br />Mr. Leonard Barefoot, Planner, appeared before the Board and <br />presented for their consideration, a preliminary plat of the Gunter Lakes Estates <br />Subdivision located in Greenwood Township, off Nicholson Road. The Planning <br />Board's recommendation was that the map be approved as a preliminary plat. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the Planning Board's <br />recommendation be accepted and that the preliminary plat be approved. Comm- <br />issioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />
