°~OOK ii F,ti~._ 5 <br />(d) It shall not be permitted to gather or cut green wood of <br />any kind for campfires or other purposes anywhere within <br />the park. Standing or fallen dead wood may be gathered <br />for use in campfires, but campers are encouraged, and may <br />find the need, to purchase firewood stockpiled within the <br />• campgrounds. Campers are encouraged at all times to <br />utilize an alternative means for fire building, e.g., <br />charcoal, campstoves, etc. <br />(e) Some picnic shelters are free and open on a "first come, <br />first served" basis. However, shelters may be reserved <br />in advance and in some instances are required in advance, <br />by applying for a permit form and paying a reservation fee, <br />either to the Park Manager of the Park wherein the shelter <br />is located or to the administrative offices of the Director. <br />4. <br />04 CAMPING <br />(a <br />) General. No person shall setup tents, shacks, or any other <br />temporary shelter or bring in any recreational vehicle or <br />boat for the purposes of overnight camping without registering <br />at the Park office. Camping shall be permitted at desig- <br />nated sites only. It shall not be permitted to ditch, dig, <br />or level ground for tent sites. No camper shall leave a <br />setup camp unattended for more than forty-eight 148) hours. <br />. <br />Any camp setup left unattended for more than forty-eight <br />hours shall be subject to being taken down and stored by <br />Department with the owner of the setup items being res <br />onsi <br />p <br />- <br />able for the-cost of taking down the camp and storage fees <br />for said items. <br />(b) <br />Supervised or organized camping. Camping by group, of persona <br />under adequate supervision is allowed in those Parke so des- <br />ignated as group camp areas. All youth groups must have <br />as a minimum, one (1) adult in attendance for every ten (10) <br />children. <br />(c) <br />Registration. Campers and guests shall register with the <br />• <br />Park Manager on a form supplied by the Department. <br />(d) <br />Length of stay. Campers stay is limited for fourteen (14) <br />consecutive days, at any one Park and two (2) days must <br />elapse before re-registering, <br />(e) <br />Check-out time. Campers shall check out no later than o <br />ne <br />o'clock (1:00) p.m. unless prior arrangements are made with <br />th <br />P <br />e <br />ark Manager. In no event shall the check-out time be <br />extended beyond three o'clock (3:00) p <br />m <br />unless <br />, <br />, <br />space is <br />available and additional fee is paid, <br />(f) <br />Payment. There shall be a daily fee for the use of any desig- <br />t <br />d <br />na <br />e <br />campsite. This fee shall be set by the Parks and Rec- <br />reation Commission along with other charges which may be levied <br />for key deposits, pet deposits, or other saleable items. All <br />payments shall be made in advance. Refunds for campsite fees m <br />ay <br />only be made in case of bonafide emergencies. Determination <br />f <br />o <br />what constitutes an emergency shall be made by the Park <br />employee on duty, whose decisions are final and binding. <br />(g) <br />Reservations. Reservations can be made for a minimum of <br />one (1) day. Reservations shall be made on a form adopted <br />by the Department and filed with the Park. <br />(h) <br />Age. No campsite shall be rented to any person less than <br />sixteen (16) years of age. The Park Manager may refuse to <br />rent to any person who cannot prove the age requirement to <br />th <br />e satisfaction of the Park Manager. <br />(i) <br />Camping equipment. Campers must have camping equipment <br />, <br />consisting of a tent, trailer, van, pick-up, camper, bus <br />, <br />or motor home. Sleeping in automobiles or in the <br />i <br />open <br />s <br />prohibited, unless in the judgement of the Park employee on <br />• <br />duty, a bonafide emergency exists. <br />-6- <br />`0 <br />
