aoG!( 11 F,:,n S MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE; STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA Tuesday, September 4, 1984 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened on Tuesday, September Z 1984, in accordance with the provisions of General Statute Section 153A-40, since the first Monday of the month was a holiday. The meeting opened at 9:30 o'clock a. m. , in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond; John R. Dossenbach, Jr. ; John E. Dotterer; Bertha L. Matthews; and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Bertha L. Matthews announced that a quorum was present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman Bertha L. Matthews presided and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by the County Manager, Walter B. Hartman, Jr. The drafts of the minutes of the special and regular meetings held on August 20, 1984, were reviewed and considered. Corrections and additions were made to the draft of the minutes of the special meeting. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the drafts as amended and corrected, be adopted as the official minutes of the meetings and be recorded. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker presented a petition requesting the addition of Copeland Creek Road to the state system of secondary roads. Also brought up for consideration was the petition received which asked that Trail's End be added to the system. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that reso- lutions asking that said roads be added to the State Secondary Road System, copies of which are attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof, be adopted. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Mr. Elwin J. Buchanan, Grants Administrator, appeared before the Board and reviewed his written report. He discussed the various projects being supervised by his office and advised the Board that he would be going to Germany
