a <br />Sqv ii ?r, c, 58^ <br />The Board then proceeded to hold a public hearing on the <br />proposed change of the Varney Road to the Badders Road. The public hearing <br />was opened upon motion of Commissioner John E. Dotterer, seconded by <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., which motion was unanimously <br />adopted. After hearing all persons who desired to speak, Commissioner <br />John R. Dossenbach moved that the public hearing be closed. Commissioner <br />John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the name of <br />the Varney Road be changed to Badders Road. Commissioner John E. Dotterer <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />It was reported to the Board that Central Carolina Technical <br />College had requested that the County transfer title of the old Dog Warden's <br />truck to it so that they might use it in making trips back and forth to the County <br />Landfill. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , moved that the title of the <br />truck be transferred to Central Carolina Technical College . Commissioner <br />Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />The County Manager reported that he had the opportunity to sell <br />two cash register type computer terminals to Randolph County, for the price of <br />$700. 00 for each terminal. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that such <br />sale be approved and authorized. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., requested that the Board <br />delay consideration of the appointments to the Ambulance Advisory Committee <br />until the next meeting of the Board. <br />The Board decided to carry over consideration of the Family <br />Hospitalization adjustment until its next meeting. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the County Manager <br />be authorized to pursue an alternate program of Health insurance for consideration <br />by the County's employees provided the County's accountants are of the opinion <br />that there is a tax saving. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote, Commissioners Almond, Dossenbach, Dotterer, Matthews, voted <br />for it and Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker voted against it. <br />The proposal of Mr. Wallace McIver, to convey land to the County <br />adjoining the property donated by the Reeves family was considered and the County <br />Attorney was instructed to advise Mr. McIver that the County would accept the <br />gift. <br />
