o~,f 91 PACE 590 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA Monday, October 1st, 1984 T~'6 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened on Monday, October 1st, 1984, at 9:30 o'clock a, m., in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, Those present were Commissioners' Jerry M. Almond; John R. Dossenbach, Jr. ; John E. Dotterer; Bertha L. Matthews; and Gordon A. Wicker. Chair- man Bertha L. Matthews declared that a quorum was present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman Bertha L. Matthews presided and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by Chairman Bertha L. Matthews. The draft of the minutes of the regular meeting held on Septem- ber 17, 1984, were reviewed and considered along with the minutes of the special meeting held on September 26, 1984, The minutes of the regular meeting held on September 17, 1984, were corrected and following this, Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the minutes of the regular meeting held on September 17th, 1984, and the special meeting held on September 26, 1984, be approved and ordered recorded. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., seconded the motion and upon a vote, Commissioners Almond, Dossenbach, Dotterer, and Matthews voted for it and Commissioner Wicker voted against it. The Chairman ruled the motion carried by a majority vote, Chairman Matthews asked that the Corps of Engineers be re- quested to make a study of the flood plain of Buffalo Creek. Mr, Elwin Buchanan, Grants Administrator; appeared before the Board and reviewed the projects being supervised by his office, Mr. Buchanan also gave a report of his trip to Germany with representatives of the Sanford Area Chamber of Commerce to visit industrial prospects.
