o~,f 91 PACE 590 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, October 1st, 1984 <br /> <br />T~'6 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened on Monday, October 1st, <br />1984, at 9:30 o'clock a, m., in the Commissioners Room on the second floor <br />of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, <br />Those present were Commissioners' Jerry M. Almond; John R. Dossenbach, <br />Jr. ; John E. Dotterer; Bertha L. Matthews; and Gordon A. Wicker. Chair- <br />man Bertha L. Matthews declared that a quorum was present and the meeting <br />open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman Bertha L. Matthews presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Chairman Bertha L. Matthews. <br />The draft of the minutes of the regular meeting held on Septem- <br />ber 17, 1984, were reviewed and considered along with the minutes of the special <br />meeting held on September 26, 1984, The minutes of the regular meeting held <br />on September 17, 1984, were corrected and following this, Commissioner John <br />E. Dotterer moved that the minutes of the regular meeting held on September <br />17th, 1984, and the special meeting held on September 26, 1984, be approved and <br />ordered recorded. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote, Commissioners Almond, Dossenbach, Dotterer, and Matthews <br />voted for it and Commissioner Wicker voted against it. The Chairman ruled the <br />motion carried by a majority vote, <br />Chairman Matthews asked that the Corps of Engineers be re- <br />quested to make a study of the flood plain of Buffalo Creek. <br />Mr, Elwin Buchanan, Grants Administrator; appeared before <br />the Board and reviewed the projects being supervised by his office, Mr. Buchanan <br />also gave a report of his trip to Germany with representatives of the Sanford Area <br />Chamber of Commerce to visit industrial prospects. <br />
