2.0 <br />C. Empl 9ent, <br />ties; <br />RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />Y <br />9Cns 11 ?AC: <br />pre-employment <br />610 <br />and »-related activi- <br />2.1 It shall be the responsibility of the County <br />Manager's Office to, coordinate the provision of <br />aids to county departments, and to maintain all <br />pertinent program records., <br />2.2 It shall be the responsibility of the County <br />Manager's Office to communicate with all county <br />departments who may feel an aid is needed to enable <br />non-ambulatory citizens participation in county <br />services. <br />2.3 It shall be the responsibility of the non-ambula- <br />tory person or his/her representative and/or the <br />requesting county department to notify the County <br />Manager's Office 48 hours in advance of the time an <br />aid is needed. <br />2.4 It shall be the responsibility of each county <br />department to determine the needs for aids for the <br />non-ambulatory-individuals seeking County services. <br />2.5 A non-ambulatory person or his/her representative <br />may request services directly from the County <br />Manager's office. <br />2.6 The County Manager's Office shall review the re- <br />quest and, if approved, shall make the necessary <br />arrangements. <br />2.7 Requests for other aids will also be evaluated by <br />the County Manager's Office. Upon approval by the <br />County Manager's Office necessary arrangements will <br />be made to provide the aid during the requested <br />time. <br />SECTION VI. STRUCTURAL CHANGES <br />1.0 <br />2.0 <br />POLICY <br />It shall be the policy of the county of Lee to assure <br />that structural barriers to the physically handicapped <br />do not prevent access to, or participation in, county, <br />operated activities. <br />RESPONSIBILITIES <br />2.1 The County Manager shall cause structural barriers <br />in county facilities to be identified. <br />2.2 The County Manager shall prepare a plan for elimi- <br />nation of those structural barriers over a planned <br />period of time and present that plan to the County <br />Commissioners for adoption. <br />
