601 <br />MINUTES OF <br />THE <br />REGULAR <br />MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, October 15, 1984 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for <br />the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened on <br />Monday, October 15, 1984, in the Commissioner's Room on the <br />second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker <br />Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were Commis- <br />sioners Jerry M. Almond, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., Bertha L. <br />Matthews, and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioner John E. <br />Dotterer was absent when the meeting opened but joined the <br />meeting later. Chairman Bertha L. Matthews announced that a <br />quorum was present and the meeting open for the transaction <br />of business. <br />Chairman Bertha L. Matthews presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by County Manager Walter B. <br />Hartman, Jr. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, <br />October 1, 1984, were approved and ordered recorded, upon <br />motion of Commissioner Jerry M. Almond, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Gordon A. Wicker, which motion was unanimously adopted <br />upon a vote. <br />The Board next considered a road petition received <br />requesting the addition of Stoneybrook Drive to the state <br />system of secondary roads. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker <br />suggested that all future road petitions be sent through the <br />Planning Board for their inspection before coming to the <br />Board of Commissioners. Upon motion of Commissioner Jerry M. <br />Almond, seconded by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., it <br />was unanimously adopted to send the Stoneybrook Drive <br />petition on to the Department of Transportation for their <br />consideration and that all future petitions be sent to the <br />Planning Board for their review. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer joined the meeting and <br />participated in the further deliberations of the board. <br />Chairman Matthews referred to recent correspondence from <br />the Department of Transportation which indicated that the <br />county had expressed concern over the flooding problem at <br />
