i <br />629 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, November 19, 1984 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened on Monday, November 19, 1984, <br />at 7:30 o'clock p. m. , in the Commissioner's Room, on the second floor of the <br />County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those <br />present when the meeting opened were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, John <br />R. Dossenbach, Jr. , John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews, and Gordon A. <br />Wicker. Chairman Bertha L. Matthews announced that a quorum was present <br />and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman Bertha L. Matthews presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Chairman Bertha L. Matthews. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the draft of the <br />minutes for the regular meeting held on November 5th, 1984, which had been <br />submitted to the Board be approved and adopted as the official minutes of said <br />meeting and be recorded. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker presented a road petition re- <br />questing the addition of Bi rchard Rd'. to the Secondary Road System. Following a <br />discussion of the petition, Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the <br />petition be approved and the regular resolution asking the State to add the road <br />to the Secondary Road System be adopted. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond reported he had received a <br />complaint that subsequent scraping by maintenance crews had removed the <br />crushed stone placed on Secondary Road No. 1429, known as the Phil Johnson <br />Road. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Division of Highways <br />be requested to investigate the matter and to take such action as it deems <br />appropriate to correct the situation. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded <br />
