'ry <br />BOG'S 11 PAcE 692 <br />preliminary plat for Cranes Creek Subdivision Section III, and an abbreviated <br />subdivision plat for the Hoover Johnson property in Greenwood Township, <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Elwin Buchanan, Grants Administrator, appeared before <br />the Board and advised the Board that the Economic Development Corporation <br />had offered a grant in the amount of $38, 500. 00 to cover additional construction <br />costs of a pressure sewer line to the Lee County Industrial Park. Comm- <br />issioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the Board adopt the resolution accepting <br />the grant, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference <br />made a part hereof. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer welcomed representatives of Boy <br />Scout, Troop 907 sponsored by the Trinity Lutheran Church, to the meeting. <br />The Board next considered the request for a letter of support <br />to the tlc home. A draft of the proposed letter was presented to the Board, <br />a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part <br />hereof. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the Board endorse the <br />efforts of said home and authorize the Chairman to execute the letter of support. <br />Commissioners Almond and Cox both seconded the motion and upon a vote it <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />The request from the Parks and Recreation Department to <br />allow Mr. Charles Wolfe to teach guitar lessons in the Arts Center and to <br />renovate the small room on the right side of the south entrance, at his expense, <br />was presented to the Board. The matter was discussed at length following which <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the request be approved <br />with the stipulation that Mr. Wolfe would agree to vacate the premises upon <br />thirty days written notice. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote, Commissioners Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews and Dott- <br />erer voted for it and Commissioner Almond voted against it. The Chairman <br />ruled the motion carried by a majority vote. <br />The Chairman recognized Mr. Robert Dalrymple, Chairman of <br />the Lee County Board of Education. <br />Mr. Darrell Spencer, Director of School Planning, presented a <br />program on various methods of financing capital outlay projects. A represen- <br />tative of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners was present <br />and members of both Boards addressed questions to these gentlemen concerning <br />financing of capital outlay projects. No formal action was taken. <br />
