Almond moved that the Board request <br />the Triangle J Council of Government for a Grant to study and determine the <br />feasibility costs and administrative structure for the joint operation by the City <br />of Sanford and Lee County, of a 911 System for all of Lee County. Commissioner <br />John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />The release report and refund request for the month of February, <br />as prepared by the Tax Supervisor's office was presented to the Board for its <br />consideration. After review and discussion, Commissioner Jerry M. Almond <br />moved that the release report be approved and that the refund request be approved <br />and that the Tax Collector be authorized to make such refunds in keeping with the <br />reports submitted to the Board, copies of which are attached hereto and by this <br />reference made a part hereof. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr, seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The roster of the Northwest Pocket Volunteer Fire Department <br />was presented to the Board for its consideration. After discussion and review, <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the resolution entitled "Initial <br />Certification Of Fire Department", a copy of which together with a,roster of said <br />fire department, are attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, be <br />adopted. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote it <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />The Board next discussed County building needs. The consensus <br />of feeling was that the Board should acquire the remaining interest in the County <br />Office Building (with the exception of the Board of Education interest) and that the <br />Board use the County Office Building and the old Hospital site to house County <br />agencies. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the Board go <br />into Executive Session to discuss land matters. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews <br />seconded the motion and upon a.vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Following the Executive Session, Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews <br />moved that the Executive Session be closed and the Board resume meeting in public <br />session. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Board noted the response received from the Corps of Engineers <br />of the United States Army with respect to flood control consideration on Big Buffalo <br />Creek in Lee County. <br />It was decided that the joint meeting requested by the Lee County <br />Board of Education should be held in conjunction with the next regular meeting of <br />the Board. <br />
