S. 105-360, establish as its schedule of discounts to be <br />applied to taxes paid prior to the due date as follows: <br />First 15 days of July-3%; thereafter, no discount, <br />and that the County Manager is authorized to sub- <br />mit this resolution to the Department of Revenue <br />of the State of North Carolina, for approval and <br />upon approval to publish said schedule as prescribed <br />by law. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote it was unanimously adopted. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />recommended that the County Manager contact the authorities of the City of Sanford <br />to determine if the City has reconsidered its, position about having the County <br />collect their taxes for them. <br />The County Manager brought to the attention of the Board the <br />desire of the City of Sanford to acquire a portion of the present Health Department <br />site to extend the right of way of Evergreen Street to Woodland Avenue. The <br />Board authorized the County Manager to negotiate with the City authorities for a <br />swap of said land for the land near the Wicker School site that the County has <br />attempted to acquire from the City previously. <br />Commissioner Raymond C. Cox,. Jr. invited the Board to be <br />present at the office of the Lee County Farm Bureau on April 28, 1985, when the <br />new facility is open to the public <br />It was announced that the Water Committee would meet on Wednes- <br />day, April 17, 1985, at 3 o'clock p. m. <br />The Chairman announced that Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, <br />Jr., would serve on the Building Committee with him.
