~~K Ai ~rcF 724 0 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, April 15th, 1985 ' T r ^ ' <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened on Monday, April 15th, <br />1985, at 7:00 o'clock p.m. , in the Commissioners Room on the second floor <br />of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />Those present when'the meeting opened were Commissioners Jerry M. <br />Almond, Raymond C. Cox, Jr., John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer <br />and Bertha L. Matthews. Chairman John E. Dotterer announced that a quorum <br />was present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman <br />John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by County Manager, Walter B. Hartman, <br />Jr. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on April 1, 1985, were <br />approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner Jerry M. Almond, <br />which motion was seconded by Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr., and <br />unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Jerry M. Almond, seconded by <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., which motion was unanimously adopted <br />it was resolved to request the Department of Transportation to conduct a study <br />of the speed limit and conditions on the Cox Mill Road and if warranted by their <br />findings, to lower the speed limit . <br />The written request of the Jim Walter Homes, Inc. , for a refund <br />of a building permit in the amount of, $71. 00, which was intended for use for <br />construction of a home for Robert D. Perry, was presented to the Board. It <br />appears that the home was never built and the owner cancelled the contract with <br />the company and therefore, they were requesting a refund. Commissioner Jerry <br />M. Almond moved that the appropriate officers of.the County be authorized and <br />directed to refund the sum of $71. 00 to Jim Walter Homes, Inc., as a refund for <br />a building permit which was not used. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews second- <br />ed the motion and upona vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />
