0 0 <br />wo U ?Art 718 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, April lst, 1985 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened on Monday, April 1st, 1985, at 9:30 <br />o1clock a, m., in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County Office <br />Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present when the <br />meeting opened were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, Raymond C. Cox, Jr., <br />John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer and Bertha L. Matthews. Chairman <br />John E. Dotterer announced that a quorum was present and the meeting open for <br />the transaction of business. Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Chairman John E. Dotterer. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on March 18, 1985 <br />and minutes of the special meeting held on March 22, 1985, were approved and <br />ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner Jerry M. Almond, seconded by <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews, which motion was unanimously adopted by a <br />vote. <br />Mr. Charles Ingram was recognized as newly appointed member <br />of the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />Mr. Beady Waddell was recognized and presented a certificate <br />for his services on the Youth Commission. <br />Rev. Roy Swann and Ms. Mary Hawley Oates was recognized as <br />newly appointed members of the Youth Commission. <br />Sheriff James Holt appeared before the Board with members of <br />his staff and reviewed his budget request. <br />Mr. Elwin Buchanan, Grants Administrator, appeared before the <br />Board and reviewed the report of the projects being supervised by his office. Mr. <br />Buchanan also reviewed the Community Development application. Mr. Buchanan <br />advised the Board that he had advertised for a required public hearing upon the <br />
