NORTH CAROLINA <br />1.11-111. 1 I'll, _1*111 <br />Friday, March 22nd, 1985 <br />The special meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened on Friday, March 22nd, <br />1985, at 4:00 o'clock p. m. , in the Commissioners Room on the second floor <br />of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, in <br />accordance with the notice issued at the direction of the Chairman. Those <br />present were Commissioners Raymond C. Cox, Jr., John R. Dossenbach, Jr., <br />John E. Dotterer and Bertha L. Matthews. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond <br />was absent when the meeting opened. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer declared that a quorum was present <br />and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Commissioner John E. <br />Dotterer presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Ms. Mary Hawley Oakes and Mr. Roy Swann were appointed <br />as members of the Lee County Youth Commission, upon motion of Commissioner <br />Bertha L. Matthews, which motion was duly seconded by Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr. , and unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />Mr. Charles Ingram was appointed a member of the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission, upon motion of Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , <br />which motion was duly seconded by Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews and <br />unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />The County Manager presented a'Budget Amendment entitled <br />"Appropriation Adjustment #3/22/85/14", a copy of which is attached to these <br />minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. The County Manager reviewed <br />the amendment and its effect, following which Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, <br />Jr. , moved the adoption of the Budget Amendment. Commissioner Raymond C. <br />Cox, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the County <br />Planning Board be asked to consider and draft an Ordinance relating to bill- <br />boards and junk yards in Lee County, to be presented to the Board for its <br />consideration. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. seconded the motion. <br />
