MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />t <br />FOR <br />J <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Thursday, July 11, 1985 <br />The special meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 5:00 o'clock p, m. , in <br />the Commissioners Room on the second floor, County Office Building, 200 <br />Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, the same being the date, time and <br />place specified in the call of the meeting issued at the direction of the Chair- <br />man. Those present were Commissioners.Jerry M. Almond, Raymond C. <br />Cox, Jr., John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer and Bertha L. Matthews. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business <br />was transacted:. <br />The draft of the minutes of the regular meeting held on July 8, <br />1985, were distributed to the Board for their consideration. <br />The Chairman stated that the purpose of the meeting as speci- <br />fied in the call was the selection of the Board's appointee as one of the Trustees <br />of Central Carolina Technical College. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that <br />Mrs. Irene White be re-appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees of <br />Central Carolina Technical College. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. <br />seconded that nomination. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. nominated <br />Mr. Ralph Monger for the position. There were no further nominations and the <br />Chairman called for a vote. Commissioner Almond asked and was given per- <br />mission to discuss the matter and queried Mrs. White as to whether or not she <br />was willing to serve. Mrs.. White affirmed that she would be willing to serve <br />a second term. The Board proceeded to vote by ballot and the results of the vote <br />were as follows: <br />Commissioners Dossenbach, Dotterer and Matthews <br />voted for Mr. Monger and Commissioners Almond <br />and Cox voted for Mrs. White. <br />The Chairman declared that Mr. Monger had won the election <br />as the Board's appointee by a majority vote. <br />
