:aK 11 PALE 788 <br />1, That the property described in the report <br />from Mr. Hugh G. Brewer, Jr., Maintenance Super- <br />visor, dated March 5, 1985, a copy of which is attached <br />to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof, <br />is hereby declared to be surplus to the needs of Lee County. <br />2, That the County Manager is authorized to receive, <br />in the Board of Commissioners behalf, bids at public auction <br />for the purchase of the described property. <br />3. That an auction will be held on August 10, 1985, <br />at a time and place as designated in the public ads and as <br />determined by the County Manager. <br />4, The terms of the sale shall be cash and the <br />County Manager is authorized to employ a professional <br />auctioneer for such purpose. <br />5, The County Manager shall cause a notice of <br />public auction to be published in accordance with the re- <br />quirements of the appropriate statute. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr, seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the Lemon Springs <br />Fire Department be authorized to use excess tax money (above the $1, 500 <br />currently budgeted) from 'funds collected during the last fiscal year, up to the <br />amount of $1, 500. 00 for the purchase of fire fighting equipment. Commissioner <br />Raymond C. Cox, Jr, seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />The roster of the Deep River Fire Department was presented to <br />the Board for certification and a copy of which is attached to these minutes and <br />by this reference made a part hereof. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. <br />moved that the Board certify the roster as a true and accurate list to the North <br />Carolina Firemen's Pension Fund. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted, <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the Board endorse <br />the Proclamation issued by the Parks and Recreation Commission, respecting <br />the Life-Be-In-It program, a copy of which Proclamation is attached to these <br />minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />
