590:. 11 PASE 805 <br />D <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, July 22nd, 1985 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 o'clock p, m. , in the <br />Commissioner's Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 <br />Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were Commissioners <br />Jerry M. Almond, Raymond C. Cox, Jr., John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. <br />Dotterer, and Bertha L. Matthews. Chairman John E. Dotterer declared that a <br />quorum was present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by K. R. Hoyle, County Attorney. <br />The Chairman recognized the recent appointees of the Board <br />to various boards and commissions who were present. Among them were <br />Dr. Paul Howard, Mr. Ralph Monger, Dr. McIntosh, Mrs. Molly Watts, Mr. <br />John Hall, Mrs. Celia Dickerson, Mr. Hugh Moore, and Mr. Douglas Wilkerson, <br />Jr. The Chairman expressed the Board's appreciation for their willingness to <br />render public service and presented each with a pin bearing the County Seal. <br />The drafts of the minutes of the regular meeting held on July <br />8, 1985, and the special meeting held on July'll, 1985, were considered and upon <br />motion of Commissioner Jerry M. Almond, seconded by Commissioner Bertha L. <br />Matthews, the Board unanimously adopted them as the official minutes of said <br />meetings and ordered them recorded. <br />Mr. Elwin Buchanan, Grants Administrator, appeared before <br />the Board and requested that the Board ask the Department of Transportation to <br />take over the maintenance of Elwin Buchanan Drive, a sixty foot road in the Lee <br />County Industrial Park, which runs from Secondary Road 1466 to Clyde Rhyne <br />Drive. After discussion, Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved the adoption <br />of the following resolution with respect to said road: <br />
