Cox, Jr. moved that the <br />Board accept the gift of the General Electric Video Cassette Recorder <br />(Model #6004), made by Wicker Oil Company, Inc., to the Lee County <br />Sheriff's Department, and that the appropriate officials be authorized <br />to express the County's appreciation for the gift. Commissioner Jerry <br />M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />A map and description of the West Sanford Fire District <br />which includes a portion of Chatham County, was presented to the Board <br />for its consideration. After discussion, Commissioner Bertha L. <br />Matthews moved that the description of the fire' district be approved. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Vice Chairman Dossenbach noted that the Board had <br />received rosters from the Cape Fear Rural Fire Department and the <br />Northwest Pocket Fire Department, both of which had been certified <br />by their respective fire chiefs to be true and accurate. The rosters <br />are attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. <br />After review and examination of the rosters, Commissioner Bertha L. <br />Matthews moved that the Board, in its capacity of the governing body <br />over the Cape Fear Rural Fire Department and the Northwest Pocket <br />Fire Department, certify the rosters as presented as true and accurate <br />rosters and authorize that a certificate to that effect may be executed by <br />the appropriate County officals. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The County Manager then presented a draft of a reso- <br />lution of the Board providing for the establishment of Fire/Service <br />Districts in Lee County. A copy of the draft is attached to these min- <br />utes and by this reference made a part hereof. The County Manager <br />explained that this was a revision of the basic County policy which had been <br />revised in keeping with the extension of the fire districts to incorporate <br />all of the area of the County. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. <br />moved that the resolution be adopted and that all resolutions in conflict <br />therewith be rescinded. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The County Manager advised the Board that the low <br />bidder for auctioneering services with respect to sale of surplus prop- <br />erty to be held in accordance with the resolution adopted at the July 8, <br />1985, meeting had a conflict on that date and he was requesting that the <br />
