Approval of Household Hazardous Waste Services. <br /> On August 17, 2015, the Lee County Board of Commissioners approved a three (3)year <br /> Agreement with ECOFLO, Inc. to provide Household Hazardous Waste Services. Said services <br /> include a one-day annual household hazardous waste event and latex paint recycling services. <br /> This will be a one year approval and a copy of said amendment is attached to these minutes <br /> and by this reference made a part hereof. This will the final renewal and next year we will put <br /> out an RFP for these services. There is an event in October and it is normally a good event, we <br /> send out a flyer to every student to the school and advertise and put it on the radio. <br /> Commissioner Reives moved to approve the household hazardous waste services, a copy of <br /> which is attached to these minutes and by reference made a part hereof. Disaster Debris Management and Removal Services. <br /> Solid Waste Superintendent, Joseph Cherry informed the Board that our current disaster <br /> debris management and removal services agreement has expired. Staff submitted a request for <br /> proposals for this service. Eight qualified firms responded who could provide disaster recovery <br /> services following a natural or manmade disaster in the County. The request is to award the <br /> RFP to CERES Environmental Services, Inc. and allow for contract negotiations between the <br /> County and vendor. Commissioner Reives moved to approve the disaster debris management <br /> and removal services RPF with Environmental Services, Inc. Upon a vote, the results were as <br /> follows: <br /> Aye: Dalrymple, Del Palazzo, Dodson, Reives, Sharpe, Smith <br /> Nay: None <br /> Chair Dalrymple ruled the motion had carried unanimously. <br /> C. Recommendation by the Lee County Transportation Committee on the Ranking of the Lee <br /> County Transportation Proiects Submitted to TARPO. <br /> David Montgomery, a senior planner, presented to the Board, the recommendation of the <br /> Lee County Transportation Committee's ranking of the transportation projects submitted to <br /> TARPO. TARPO serves all of Lee and Moore Counties as well as portions of Chatham and <br /> Orange. The Lee County Transportation Committee has nine members and have met to <br /> develop a prioritized ranking of up to eight projects in the three categories. The members <br /> include two from each governing board, a representative from the Raleigh Executive Jetport, <br /> SAGA, and COLTS. The categories include highway projects, bike/ped projects, and aviation. <br /> Mr. Montgomery went through the eight projects to be included in each category. He informed <br /> the Board at this time he is looking for their approval to move forward with submitting the <br /> projects to TARPO and then the projects will be brought back for ranking by the Board. <br /> Commissioner Smith moved to accept the ranking of the Lee County transportation projects <br /> submitted to TARPO.
