1R rae: 871. <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, October 21, 1985 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 o'clock p.m., on Monday, Oct- <br />ober 21, 1985, in the Commissioners Room., in the County Office Building, 200 <br />Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were Commissioners <br />Jerry M. Almond; Raymond C. Cox, Jr.; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; John E. <br />Dotterer; and Bertha L. Matthews. The Chairman declared a quorum was <br />present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by County Manager, Walter B. Hartman, <br />Jr. <br />The draft of the minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, <br />October 7, 1985, was considered and upon motion of Commissioner Raymond <br />C. Cox, Jr., seconded by Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews, the Board unani- <br />mously adopted them as the official minutes of said meeting and ordered them <br />recorded. <br />Mr. Donn Gunderson, Director of the Department of Social <br />Services, appeared before the Board and outlined the needs of a child whose <br />custody had been placed with his department who was in need of a moderate <br />management home. Mr. Gunderson reported that the only home in that category <br />that would accept the child was located in Minnesota and upon motion of Comm- <br />issioner Bertha L. Matthews, seconded by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, <br />Jr. , the Board authorized Mr. Gunderson to take appropriate steps to see that <br />the child was given the needed care even if it meant placing him in the home in <br />Minnesota. Upon a vote, the motion was, unanimously adopted. <br />
