eoor; 11 ml 956 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />J THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, May 5, 1986 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for <br />the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 <br />a.m. on Monday, May 5, 1986, in the Commissioners Room on the <br />second floor of the County Office Building,- 200 Wicker <br />Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were Commis- <br />sioners Jerry M. Almond, Raymond C. Cox, Jr., John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer, and Bertha L. Matthews. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer declared a.quorum present and the <br />meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />The invocation was given by Commissioner Jerry M. <br />Almond. <br />The draft of the minutes of the regular meeting held on <br />April 21, 1986, were considered. Upon motion of Commissioner <br />Jerry M. Almond, seconded by Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, <br />Jr., which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote,-it was <br />resolved to approve the draft as the official minutes of said <br />meeting and that they be recorded. <br />- The Chairman opened the public hearing on the 1986 <br />Community - Development Grant Application. There- being no <br />comments from the audience, the Chairman declared the public <br />hearing closed. <br />Mr. Elwin Buchanan, Grants Administration-, introduced <br />Mr. Skip Green, Consultant, who brieflyreviewed this years <br />applicationfor a Small Cities Grant. Upon motion of Commis- <br />sioner Jerry M. Almond, seconded by Commissioner John R. <br />Dossebach, Jr., it was unanimously approved' that the -1986 <br />Community Development Application be filed- with the Depart- <br />ment of Natural Resources and Community Development. <br />..The Board next convened as the Board of Equalization and <br />Review with Mrs. Lucille York, Clerk of Court, administering <br />oaths to the Board. After some discussion, Commissioner <br />Raymond C. Cox, Jr., moved that the Board of Equalization and <br />Review be closed and to reconvene as the Board - of <br />Commissioners seconded by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, <br />Jr., which motion was unanimously adopted. <br />
