The following described property is hereby declared <br />to be surplus to the needs of the County of Lee: <br />A certain 50 X 100 foot lot near the community of <br />Osgood, believed to be Lot #H of the Snipes Lumber <br />Company lands, according to a map registered in <br />Map Book 1, Page 40, Lee County, which is East <br />of the George Alston lands, North of William Douglas' <br />lot, South of the Clyde Johnson-lands, West of SR 1442, <br />Lee County. <br />2. The Board of Commissioners has received an offer to <br />purchase for the sum of $300. 00, the property described above. <br />3. The Board of Commissioners proposes to accept the <br />offer unless an upset bid shall be made. <br />4. The person making the offer shall deposit with the County <br />Manager a sum equal to five percent (5%) of his offer. <br />5. The Clerk to the Board shall cause a notice of such offer <br />to be published in accordance with applicable law. <br />6. The Clerk to the Board is directed, should a qualifying <br />upset bid be received within ten (10) days from the publication of said <br />notice in accordance with the law, to readvertise the offer at the increased <br />upset bid amount. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. introduced a resolution entitled <br />"A Resolution of the Lee County Board of Commissioners Concerning Community <br />Development", which would authorize the Chairman to file an application for <br />a Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $600, 000. 00, a copy of <br />which resolution is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part <br />hereof. Commissioner Dossenbach then moved adoption of the resolution con- <br />cerning Community Development. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews econded <br />the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach introduced a Housing Rehabilitation <br />Grant Program Policy for consideration by the Board, a copy of which is <br />attached hereto and by this reference made a part of these minutes. After <br />discussion, Commissioner Dossenbach moved that the Housing Rehabilitation <br />Grant Program Policy be adopted. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Mr. Walter B. Hartman, <br />
