MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, JUNE 2, 1986 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for <br />the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 <br />o'clock a.m., on Monday, June 2, 1986, in the Commissioner's <br />Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 <br />Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were <br />Commissioners Jerry M. Almond; Raymond C. Cox, Jr.; John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr.; John E. Dotterer; and Bertha L. Matthews. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer declared a quorum present and the <br />meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />The invocation was given by Walter B. Hartman, Jr., <br />County Manager. <br />The draft of the regular meeting held on May 19, 1986, <br />was considered. Upon motion of Commissioner Jerry M. Almond, <br />seconded by Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews, which motion was <br />unanimously adopted upon a vote, it was resolved to approve <br />the draft and to adopt it as the official minutes of said <br />meeting and direct that they be recorded. <br />Mr. Taylor Uzzell and members of the Metro-Government <br />Committee appeared before the Board to distribute copies of <br />the Metro-Government Survey results and to request that the <br />commissioners participate in the formation of a joint <br />committee to further study this matter. The group also <br />requested the Board to fund such further study at a cost not <br />to exceed 87,500. The City of Sanford will be requested to <br />fund 87,500, the-Town of Broadway 82,500 and the Chamber of <br />Commerce will fund the remaining 82,500 for a total cost not <br />to exceed 820,000. Upon motion of Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr., seconded by Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, <br />Jr., it was unanimously adopted to approve the committee and <br />the 87,500 appropriation subject to the City of Sanford's and <br />the Town of Broadway's acceptance.' <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews reviewed the minutes of <br />the General Government Committee. In keeping with the action <br />of that committee, Commissioner Matthews moved approval of <br />the following: <br />That the rate increased of 81.50 per month for basic <br />service requested by Freedom Cable TV be granted. <br />
