MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA MONDAY, JUNE 2, 1986 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 o'clock a.m., on Monday, June 2, 1986, in the Commissioner's Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond; Raymond C. Cox, Jr.; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; John E. Dotterer; and Bertha L. Matthews. Chairman John E. Dotterer declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. The invocation was given by Walter B. Hartman, Jr., County Manager. The draft of the regular meeting held on May 19, 1986, was considered. Upon motion of Commissioner Jerry M. Almond, seconded by Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews, which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote, it was resolved to approve the draft and to adopt it as the official minutes of said meeting and direct that they be recorded. Mr. Taylor Uzzell and members of the Metro-Government Committee appeared before the Board to distribute copies of the Metro-Government Survey results and to request that the commissioners participate in the formation of a joint committee to further study this matter. The group also requested the Board to fund such further study at a cost not to exceed 87,500. The City of Sanford will be requested to fund 87,500, the-Town of Broadway 82,500 and the Chamber of Commerce will fund the remaining 82,500 for a total cost not to exceed 820,000. Upon motion of Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., seconded by Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr., it was unanimously adopted to approve the committee and the 87,500 appropriation subject to the City of Sanford's and the Town of Broadway's acceptance.' Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews reviewed the minutes of the General Government Committee. In keeping with the action of that committee, Commissioner Matthews moved approval of the following: That the rate increased of 81.50 per month for basic service requested by Freedom Cable TV be granted.
